Yang Yirong
Summary: Yang Yirong, male, director of the Transplantation Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou University, chief surgeon. According to incomplete data, as of 2014, the transplantation center had completed more than 1,600 allogeneic kidney transplants and more than 50 relatives’ donor kidney transplants. In addition, it has also completed multi-organ transplants such as liver-kidney combined transplants and pancreas-kidney combined transplants. In 1999, the hospital established an organ transplantation department and a transplant matching laboratory. Among the 122 hospitals with kidney transplant qualifications in the country, it ranks 12th overall, and second in Zhejiang Province. In 2011, the number of kidney transplants ranked fifth in the country.
In view of the broader background of the Chinese Communist Party's state crime of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners, since the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University is allegedly involved in the crime, Yang Yirong, the director of the hospital's transplantation department, is a major suspect.
Yang Yirong, male, director of the transplantation department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou University, chief surgeon, and master's supervisor. He is currently a member of the Renal Transplantation Group of the Urology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, a member of the Renal Transplantation Group of the Organ Transplantation Branch of the Chinese Medical Association; a member of the 9th Session of the Committee of the Chinese Dialysis and Transplantation Research Association, deputy director of the Organ Transplantation Branch of the Zhejiang Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, and deputy director level member of the 4th Session of the Committee of the Zhejiang Branch of the Chinese Dialysis and Transplantation Research Association.
He graduated from the Department of Clinical Medicine of Wenzhou Medical College in 1980. He began to be involved in the field of organ transplantation in 1983 and first performed kidney transplantation in Wenzhou. As of 2014, the transplantation center had completed more than 1,600 allogeneic kidney transplants and more than 50 relatives donor kidney transplants. In addition, it has completed multiple organ transplants such as liver-kidney combined transplants and pancreas-kidney combined transplants[1]. From 1983 to 2011, he participated in 1,400 kidney transplants. [2]As of 2010, he participated in 52 liver transplants[3]. From May 2002 to September 2006, he participated in 8 combined liver and kidney transplant operations[4].
The First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University ranked fifth in the country in terms of the number of kidney transplants in 2011.
The transplant center has been carrying out kidney transplants since 1985, and has successively carried out liver transplants, pancreas-kidney combined transplants, liver-kidney combined transplants, heart transplants and other operations. In 1999, the organ transplant department [5] and transplant matching laboratory were established.[6]
Kidney transplants: 375 kidney transplants were completed from 1985 to 2000, or 25 kidney transplants per year. By 2006, the hospital claimed that more than 100 kidney transplants could be performed each year[7]. As of 2012, a total of more than 1,600 allogeneic kidney transplants had been completed[8], [9] ranking 12th among the 122 qualified hospitals in the country and second in Zhejiang Province. The number of kidney transplants in 2011 ranked fifth in the country[10].
In 2001, liver transplants were carried out in southern Zhejiang under the leadership of President Zhang Qiyu. In the same year, pancreas-kidney combined transplantation, liver-kidney combined transplantation and other large organ and multi-organ combined transplantation were carried out successively. In a short period of time, liver transplantation has matured rapidly[11]. In recent years, the liver transplantation team has performed emergency liver transplantation on many patients with acute liver failure[12]. On March 31, 2004, the hospital performed an emergency heart transplantation operation[13].
