Guo Hongxin, male. Chief surgeon of the Urology Department of the Air Force Hospital of PLA’s Northern Theater (formerly PLA No. 463 Hospital,) director of the Urology Department of the PLA No. 463 Hospital-Shenyang Military Region Urology Center, and deputy director of Liaoning Provincial Organ Transplantation Committee.

He has reached the advanced level in kidney transplantation in Liaoning Province and the Air Force.[1] He is engaged in clinical work of urology diseases. Since 1997, he has done 365 cases of kidney transplantation.[2]

Organ transplantation has become one of the new three pillars of the hospital

The hospital belongs to the second batch that obtained the qualification for kidney transplantation from the Ministry of Health. Meng Weihong, director of PLA No. 463 Hospital in the Shenyang Military Region, who took office in 1998, said, “We must vigorously develop organ transplantation, such as liver transplantation and kidney transplantation, and concentrate financial resources and manpower on these fields.” Organ transplantation, cell therapy and minimally invasive interventional therapy technologies have become the new three pillars of the hospital. [3]

The number of kidney transplant cases in this hospital ranks among the top in China, and it has always maintained a leading position in technology in the military area and the Shenyang area of Liaoning Province.[4] On August 1, 2013, the hospital was designated by the CCP's Health and Family Planning Commission to carry out kidney transplants.[5]

According to a paper of the hospital published in the fifth issue of 2006 in Liaoning Medical Journal, the hospital had performed at least 326 cases of kidney transplantation as of 2005.[6]
