WOIPFG's Investigative Report on the Alleged Organ Harvesting of Living Falun Gong Practitioners by Yang Hongwei, Director of the Organ Transplantation Center at the General Hospital of Northern Theater Command

Summary: Yang Hongwei, male, born in November 1964. Director and chief surgeon of the Organ Transplantation Center of the General Hospital of Northern Theater Command (Formerly the General Hospital of Shenyang Military Region). He is a member of the CCP’s PLA Organ Transplantation Professional Committee and the number of kidney transplants he did ranks first in Liaoning Province. On December 12, 2009, an armed policeman from Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province who had served as an armed guard at the live organ harvesting site of Falun Gong practitioners called WOIPFG to testify that he had witnessed the entire process of organ harvesting from a living Falun Gong practitioner. On April 9, 2002, in an operating room on the 15th floor of the Shenyang Military Region General Hospital, the armed witness stood on guard. The witness witnessed two military doctors (one of whom had an officer's serial number 0106069) took the heart, liver, and kidney from a 30-year-old female Falun Gong practitioner, who was a middle school teacher, while she was alive, without using anesthesia.  Video evidence shows that kidney transplant operations are frequent at the hospital. And the telephone recording indicates the kidney transplant department of this hospital does a large number of surgeries.

In view of the broader background of the Chinese Communist Party's state crime of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners, since the General Hospital of Northern Theater Command (Formerly the General Hospital of Shenyang Military Region) has been involved in the crime, Yang Hongwei, the director of the hospital's Organ Transplantation Center, is a major suspect.

Witness testimony of an armed guard at the scene: harvesting organs from a living Falun Gong practitioner

On December 12, 2009, an armed police officer in Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province, who had served as a guard at the scene of organ harvesting from a living Falun Gong practitioner, called WOIPFG to testify that he witnessed the entire process of organ harvesting from a living Falun Gong practitioner.  On April 9, 2002, in an operating room on the 15th floor of the Shenyang Military Region General Hospital, the armed witness stood on guard. The witness witnessed two military doctors (one of whom had an officer's serial number 0106069) took the heart, liver, and kidney from a 30-year-old female Falun Gong practitioner, who was a middle school teacher, while she was alive, without using anesthesia. Before that, the female teacher had been tortured, humiliated, and raped for a month.[4]

Aside from exposing live organ harvesting, the witness also disclosed more unknown crimes. For example, the Jinzhou Public Security Bureau persecuted and killed many Falun Gong practitioners, but claimed these practitioners committed suicide or died by accident; they even sucked out Falun Gong practitioners' brain pulp, etc. Besides, there were even more evil things happening...

The Kidney Transplant Department performed a large number of operations

The hospital's historical data shows that the Department of Urology of the General Hospital of Shenyang Military Region is a crucial department and kidney transplant center in the Shenyang Military Region, with 36 beds. In recent years, the annual number of kidney transplants has exceeded 100. As of 2005, more than 1,500 kidney transplants had been completed.[5]

On August 24, 2007, the Ministry of Health announced the first batch of 89 hospitals approved for organ transplantation in the country, 27 of which are military hospitals, including the kidney transplantation project of the General Hospital of Shenyang Military Region; Among the 95 designated hospitals to carry out organ transplants, 23 are military hospitals, including the heart/lung transplant program of the General Hospital of Shenyang Military Region.[6]

According to the website information in 2014, the hospital introduced that "large organ transplantation technology has also taken amazing steps in the past two years based on years of experience in kidney transplantation, and has successively carried out heart, liver, and lung large organ transplants." [7]

Video evidence shows the kidney transplant operations in this hospital were frequent[8]

One day in 2018, a patient who had undergone a kidney transplant at the Shenyang Military Region General Hospital said: "I have been here for two weeks. The surgery and hospitalization cost me 300,000 rmb yuan so far." "They operated on two people at a time. One ( kidney donor) for two people, a pair of kidneys, for two people." "During the days I was in the hospital, they took a pair every one or two days."
