Bie Ping
Abstract: Bie Ping is the chief surgeon of the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery of the First Affiliated Hospital of Army Medical University (formerly Southwest Hospital Affiliated to the Third Military Medical University), the director of the PLA Hepatobiliary Surgery Research Institute, and the president of the PLA Southwest Hepatobiliary Surgery Hospital. The hospital started clinical liver transplantation in May 1999 and was named the "PLA Liver Transplant Center" in 2000. In 2001, it was established as the Key Laboratory of Liver Transplantation of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. In 2004, the institute and the world's largest organ transplant center, the Organ Transplantation Institute of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, jointly established an international cooperation liver transplantation center. The hospital's hepatobiliary surgery department had developed into a hospital with 168 beds in 2004, and 10 professors, 6 associate professors, and all personnel with intermediate professional titles or above in the main series had "doctoral degrees". It claimed to be the largest hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery and liver transplantation center in China that integrates medicine, teaching, and research. Later, the number of beds increased to 200. The institute performed 6 liver transplants simultaneously in one day. The donor source is sufficient, and matching donors can be found in a few hours. Telephone investigations show that the hospital has done a large number of transplants.
In view of the broader background of the Chinese Communist Party's state crime of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners, according to the testimony of Bai Shuzhong, since Southwest Hospital of the Third Military Medical University has been involved in the crime, Bie Ping, the director of the PLA Hepatobiliary Surgery Research Institute, and the president of the PLA Southwest Hepatobiliary Surgery Hospital, is a major suspect.
Bie Ping
Position Title: Chief surgeon, professor, associate director, supervisor of doctoral students of Hepatological Surgery Program; current director of the PLA’s Institute of Hepatological Surgery, president of the PLA’s Southwest Hepatological Surgery Hospital; has been the resident surgeon, attending surgeon, associate professor, associate chief surgeon, professor, chief surgeon, supervisor of master students and doctoral students.
Personal Profile: long been engaged in basic and clinical research in liver transplant; participated in liver transplant since 1999; extensive clinical experience and excellent surgical techniques in the surgical treatment of liver transplant. [1]
㏑ the phone investigation by WOIPFG, Bai Shuzhong, then director of Health division of General Logistics Department of PLA from 1998 to 2004, directly admitted that during his tenure Jiang Zemin personally ordered the live organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners and the hospitals affiliated to the Military Medical University were the main hospitals in the military system that carry out Jiang Zemin's order. [2] The Southwest Hospital Affiliated to the Third Military University was involved in the crime of live organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners and was one of the perpetrators of the Chinese Communist Party's military system’s live organ harvesting.
The hospital started clinical liver transplant in May 1999. [3] The hospital's Hepatological Surgery Program is one of the largest domestically and abroad. In 2000, it was named the People's Liberation Army Liver Transplant Center. [4] In 2001, it was established as the Key Laboratory of Liver Transplant of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. [5] In 2004, the institute joined forces with the world's largest organ transplant center, the Organ Transplantation Institute of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, to establish the International Collaborative Liver Transplantation Center. [6]
The hospital's Hepatological Surgery Program has now grown to have168 beds[7], 10 professors, and 6 associate professors . Main personnel with intermediate titles and above have all had doctoral degrees one way or another. It claimed it integrates medicine, teaching and research as one of the country's largest hepatopancreatobiliary Surgery and liver transplant center in China [8] with its number of beds grown later to be 200.[9] The current capacity of the institute is sufficient to ensure that six liver transplants can be performed simultaneously within one day. [10]
The hospital's Hepatological Surgery Program has been approved as the PLA’s key laboratory for liver transplantation, and established as the top priority discipline under development in the PLA’s clinical medicine.[11]
Donor sources are plentiful and a match can be found in a few hours
According to the reports of Urumqi online, Sina Net and Journal of Chinese Nurse, Huang Jiefu, then Vice Minister of the Ministry of Health of the PRC, demonstrated an autologous liver transplant at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University, using two living people as backup liver donors on the afternoon of September 28, 2005.
Huang Jiefu contacted the Liver Medical Center of Southwest Hospital of the Third Military Medical University in Chongqing, and the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, and asked them to each prepare a backup liver, in case the autologous transplant failed. The Journal of Chinese Nurse reported that within a few hours on the afternoon of the 28th, the Third Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou and Southwest Hospital in Chongqing found "the same blood type and genetic locus" of the backup livers. "At 6:30 p.m. on the 29th, the matching liver was shipped from Chongqing.” [12]
The phone investigation showed a large number of transplants at the hospital.
Investigation Respondent: Huang Xiaobing, Deputy Chief Surgeon, Xinqiao Hospital, the Third Military Medical University[13]
Investigation Date: October 17, 2019 (+86-13372618116)
Summary: Doctor: “Southwest Hospital does more, we do less. Zhejiang Medical University and Shulan Hospital have more liver sources of brain-dead DCD. West China Hospital in Chengdu has also done a lot. Objectively speaking, West China Hospital has done more than us. West China Hospital and Southwest Hospital are about the same. They should be about the same, the numbers they did are about the same.”
