Qu Qingshan
Summary
Qu Qingshan, male. Director of the Organ Transplant Center at Zhengzhou City People's Hospital, Chief Surgeon. He has performed over 1,000 allogeneic kidney transplants. The hospital's Nephrology and Organ Transplant Department was established in June 2002 and has three separate units: the Nephrology Ward, the Organ Transplant Ward, and the Hemodialysis Ward. From 2006 to 2008, the hospital ranked second nationally in kidney transplants for three consecutive years. Phone investigation revealed that Qu Qingshan and other doctors admitted to using organs from Falun Gong practitioners and continued such use. There is a large supply of donors, with a short waiting time, sometimes as fast as 2-3 days, and young and healthy donors are available. The hospital has a large number of transplants, high bed turnover rates, and even added beds.
In view of the broader background of the Chinese Communist Party's state crime of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners, since Zhengzhou People's Hospital has been involved in the crime, Qu Qingshan, the director of the hospital's Organ Transplant Center, is a major suspect.
Qu Qingshan male. Director of the Organ Transplant Department of Zhengzhou City People’s Hospital, chief surgeon. Deputy director level member of Henan Provincial Blood Purification Management Professional Committee, deputy director level member of Henan Provincial Organ Transplant Professional Committee.
Graduated from Henan Medical University. Has been engaged in urology kidney transplantation and liver transplantation. Carried out the first living donor kidney transplantation and combined liver-kidney transplantation in Henan province.
Performed more than 1,000 cases of allogeneic kidney transplantation and 150 cases of living donor kidney transplantation. More than 10 liver transplants have been successfully carried out in the past three years[1].
On Dec. 27, 2007, Qu Qingshan, the director of the Nephrology and Organ Transplantation Center, and his team completed 13 kidney transplant surgeries within 21 hours[2]. According to an article on "Chinese Etiquette Training Network" issued on April, 2010, “Around the Chinese New Year, Doctor Xing Li of Kidney Transplant Center had been working very hard for consecutive days. He had to do the operation from 2 or 3 AM until next morning. His right eye suffered from conjunctivitis as a result. Since he had to do operations every night, he had to ask his assistants to help cleaning. [3]”
The hospital’s Kidney Transplant Department was established in June 2002, having three separate wards: a kidney disease ward, an organ transplantation ward and a blood purification ward. They now became a unique specialty unit in Henan Province, a major discipline Henan Province and a Key Laboratory of Kidney Transplantation of Zhengzhou City. The department ranked 2nd on kidney transplantation in China from 2006 to 2008[4].
Zhengzhou City People's Hospital has a special building for transplant center treating transplant patients[5]. In December 2022, according to multiple sources, the new organ transplant building of Zhengzhou City People's Hospital is to be open soon[6].
Telephone investigation showed there is a large supply of donors, with a short waiting time, sometimes as fast as 2-3 days, and young and healthy donors are available.
