Pan Guanghui
Summary: Pan Guanghui, male. Director of the Organ Transplantation Department of the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University. Former Director of the Organ Transplantation Center of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical College, chief surgeon, and has personally completed more than 1,000 kidney transplants. In 2001, he presided over the work of the Organ Transplantation Center of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical College, with an annual kidney transplant volume of about 140 cases. In a telephone investigation conducted by World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG) in 2006, the hospital admitted to using Falun Gong donors.
In 2017, the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University established the Organ Transplantation Department, with Pan Guanghui as its director. He was involved in the hospital's kidney transplantation work, and the number and scale of kidney transplants in the hospital increased significantly. From 2017 to November 2023, according to incomplete data, the hospital performed a total of 829 kidney transplants. The hospital awarded Pan Guanghui the "Lifetime Contribution Award for Organ Transplantation". According to a WOIPFG telephone investigation, the hospital performed more than 600 kidney transplants in 10 months in 2021.
In view of the broader background of the Chinese Communist Party's state crime of organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners, since the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University and the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical College's involvement are involved in the crime, Pan Guanghui, the director of the hospital's Organ Transplantation Department, is a major suspect.

Graduated from Hunan Xiangya Medical College in 1983 with a bachelor's degree; graduated from the Fourth Military Medical University in 1989 with a master's degree in urology, and served as an associate chief surgeon, associate professor and master's advisor at the Southern Hospital of the First Military Medical University (now Southern Medical University) from 1989 to 2001.
Engaged in organ transplantation for nearly 30 years, had management experience of more than 2,000 cases of kidney transplantation, personally completed more than 1,000 kidney transplants; performed more than 200 cases of relative living donor kidney transplantation, completed the second case of combined pancreas-kidney transplantation in Guangdong Province. In 2001, he led the establishment of the organ transplant center of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical College, with an annual kidney transplant volume of about 140 cases[1].
During WOIPFG’s 2006 telephone investigation, the doctors of the hospital admitted to using Falun Gong practitioners as donors, readily available donors, and using living persons. The transplant doctor of the hospital claimed: there was a batch of donors in mid-April 2006. Falun Gong practitioners are healthy, and the kidneys are all from youny donors, 20 to 30 years old, they don’t have infectious diseases, AIDS or syphilis[2].
In 2017, the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University established the Organ Transplantation Department and appointed Professor Pan Guanghui as its director. From March to October 2017, the department has successfully completed nearly 70 transplant operations (including corneas), which exceeds the total number of major organ transplant operations in Guizhou Province over the years. Pan Guanghui, director of the transplantation department, said that the department has the technical foundation for major organ transplantation and will make every effort to build a major organ transplantation center in Guizhou Province within one year. By then, organ transplants such as heart, lung, and kidney can be performed[3].
He participated in the establishment of the hospital's kidney transplantation work. Under his leadership, the number and scale of kidney transplants in the hospital have increased significantly, and the organ transplantation department has grown from nothing to something, from small to large. From 2017 to November 2023, the hospital has completed a total of 829 kidney transplants, and performed the province's first pediatric liver-kidney combined transplant, split liver transplant, robotic kidney transplant, double kidney transplant, autologous kidney transplant, pancreas-kidney combined transplant, liver-kidney combined transplant, etc. The hospital awarded Pan Guanghui the "Lifetime Contribution Award for Organ Transplantation"[4].
